Diane Duane's 'The Big Meow'

Welcome to the glitzy, murky world of 1946 Hollywood, a smoggy film-noir landscape filled with glamourous starlets, flamboyantly corrupt studio heads, and wicked, pampered cats with hidden agendas; a city of unsolved murders, snoopy screenwriters, scheming PR flacks, and a shadowy, celebrity-ridden cult dabbling in knowledge better left alone -- knowledge which could destroy the world's present and doom its future, if the dreadful promise of the Year of the Black Jaguar is fulfilled...

(Want to read the full "back cover" blurb for The Big Meow? It's now over here.)

And welcome to the weblog for the online Big Meow novel project!

Still running a little behind

Apologies to everyone again. The work-related thing that occupied the middle of last week suddenly (after having apparently been put to bed) reared its ugly head once more early on Friday, and had to be dealt with all over again until late yesterday evening. I'm finishing work now on ch. 4; it should go up late tomorrow night.

(argh) Sorry about that.

Chapter Four rescheduling

A conflicting work commitment has come up which is going to make it impossible to get Chapter Four posted on its projected date of May 10th. I'm therefore rescheduling the posting date for May 12th. Apologies to everybody: but sometimes something comes up that has to be dealt with urgently, and this is one of those times.

Thanks for your patience!

If you've been reading the Blogger version of DD's weblog "Out of Ambit"...

...you might like to take this opportunity to change your bookmark for the weblog. It's moving to a new home and a WordPress version, and the Blogger version will shortly be frozen and no longer updated. (All old posts are duplicated at the new location, in case you were wondering.)

The new address is:

If you're reading DD's LiveJournal version of OOA (at http://dduane.livejournal.com), you don't need to do anything, as the blog will continue to be automatically mirrored there. Those of you who're reading the syndicated LJ feed, however, may want to change over to DD's version above.
